The plot is designed to consist of 1400 square feet of bed space, with 18' or so paths inbetween. If four 3.5' 'wide by 100' long beds are used, minimal amount of weighting of the weed tarp is possible. (If smalled beds are chosen, more sandbags/rocks will be needed to hold down the edges of more silage tarps.) Tarping makes a world of difference when it comes to avoiding the need to weed. Two weeks is enough to kill such in the heat, 3 weeks in cooler weather. Weed fabric can also be layed down, with holes aligned with crop spacing, after grain crops are harvested. 3 drip lines per bed is the best way to water. These should be fed by a gravity tank where compost and microbial tea can be added as necessary. (This tank need only be elevated a couple feet to work.) Plan on 10 gallons of water per square foot of bed for the year, which comes to about 115 gallons a day for 1400'.  All beds are assumed to be 42" wide, planted in 1-14 rows.

BROCOLLI

Need 1lb per 5 days, 68lbs a year. Yield of summer Brocolli is 39 lbs(heads) + 78 lbs (Leaves) (=117#) per 100 square feet, Sprouting about 33# per 100sf. Only sprouting brocollies make it into December and beyond. Rudolf (sewn in May or June) from mid December, and Purple Sprouting and White Sprouting (sow by Sept 1) for sprouts Late Feb thru early May. Seed in July, transplant late August to early September. 3-6 wks in tray. 8 wks grow, 6-8 wk harvest window. 3 Plants a month enough during summer, but 100 sq ft of sprouting are needed for winter. Plant Summer Brocolli (Calabrese) double rows @11" apart. Plant Overwintering Sprouting Brocolli double rows @24"apart.

CABBAGE

Need 1lb per week, 65lbs a year. Yield is 199 lbs per 100 square feet, so 34 square feet are needed.
