25 Lunar
Fortnights
As Utilized by the Gnostic Manichaean Teachings
of the Naz-Mani
In the Living Gods, Let the
hallowed Light of Transcendant Truth be praised. Let the Sweet Mystery
of Miryai awaken in the heart of hearts.
Lunar Fortnights are 14 or 15 days each. There are
two per lunar month. Five fortnights make up one of the five 72 day seasons
of the year. Each Season and each Fortnite within a Season is assigned
one of the five lights/elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Zephyr.
Each fortnight begins on either the new or full moon. Each season begins
on either the new or full moon, whichever comes first after the assigned
dates. Fortnights are divided up in these ways:
-
Tridays (3 day) - there are five of these per fortnight,
25 per 73 day Season. (Tridays allow for the 33 degrees or levels of initiation
to be dealt with in a systematic way. This is the division used in all
Seasons.)
-
Pentads (5 day) - there are 3 of these per Fortnight,
15 per Season. (These are used to rotate food types and cuisine's on the
menu: Japanese, Middle Eastern, Szechwan/Indian, Mexican, and Italian,
and to designate 5 day fasting periods.)
-
Week (7 day) - These 7 day periods are used to divide
up the Season into ten parts and into the traditional luner week. (This
is the division once used in western expressions of the Gnosis, like the
Watery Mandaean and Windy Gnostic.)
Fortnight (14/15 day) - these are used to divide
up the lunar month into two parts and each season into five parts.

Fortnight: A Fortnight
contains 3 Five Day Weeks (Pentads) & 25 Triblocks. Lasting 14/15
Days. The beginning day of each Fortnight is a Feast Day, the last days
or days of a Fortnight are Fasting Times. Fortnights are half of
the 29 d 12 h 44 min and 2.9 s true length of the lunar phases celebrated
as 15 or 14 whole days, with remainder carried over to the next lunar
month. All Waxing moons are 15 days, half of waning are 15 and
half are 14 days.

5 Tridays
-
3 Pentads (5 day) -
there are 3 of these per Fortnight, 15 per Season under the Earthly Moon,
but 5 of them under the Mars Moon Nerio (Deimos)
with
its longer Lunar Seasons. (These Pentads are used to rotate food
types and cuisine's on the menu: Japanese, Middle Eastern, Szechwan/Indian,
Mexican, and Italian, and to designate 5 day fasting periods.) The use
of Pentad "Weeks" on Earth is, in part, a move of solidarity with future
Mars colonies that have five Pentad "weeks" per their longer 133 day seasons
there.
-
"3
& 5 Methods": Body/Actions, Speech/Chants, and Study/Contemplation/Meditation/Zazen.
Used to distinguish the three five day pentads each fortnight. (The 1st
5 days are the "body mystery", etc.)
25 Triblocks ~14 Hour
Periods/15 Days (Observed
as 15 Days making up the Fortnight on Earth but as 25 Days making up the

5 Day Weeks
Pentad: Fortnights
on earth are divided into three parts of aproximately 5 days. On Mars their
equivelent consists of five 5 day periods. They can be referred to as Pentads.
A Pentad contains 5 Days & 25 Tides. A 5 Day Week (the last
5 day week is only 4 days on a short fortnight, about 1/2 the time) 3
full five day "pentad"weeks occur ever bright fortnight and dark waning
fortnights sometimes have a partial 4 day Pentad week at their end.
