FORTNIGHT OVERVIEW
Festival/Jan
17: The Pythagorean Path, Plato and ancient
Greece. The importance of the mind and of hidden relationships, mathematical
underpinnings, statistics, A.G.I. Tetrakytis symbol, greek gematria.
Bringing order and logic to the world, numbering, data, statistics.
Taking the road less traveled. Avoiding mass hysteria.
Pythagoras/Knossos
Pythagoras (c. 570–495 BCE), linked to Knossos via Minoan influences and the Eleusinian Mysteries (c. 1600 BCE origins), founded a school in Croton emphasizing mathematical harmony, as per Diogenes Laertius. Mandaean Maswetta/Tamasha baptism purified the mind, reflecting hidden relationships in the Tetraktys. His unique idea of numbers as cosmic underpinnings ordered the world logically.
Plato
Plato (c. 428–348 BCE), Pythagoras’s intellectual heir, developed ideal forms in works like The Republic, influenced by Eleusinian rites at Athens. Mandaean Rushuma hand washing symbolized intellectual clarity, aligning personal reason with universal truth. His distinctive theory of Forms elevated abstract order over material chaos.
NeoPlatonists
NeoPlatonists, led by Plotinus (204–270 CE), synthesized Pythagorean and Platonic thought, with texts like Enneads exploring the One. Mandaean masbutta raisin wine rituals ascended to ZiwaNahura Paradise, uniting mind and cosmos. Their unique emanation cosmology structured reality hierarchically.
