Embracings
Gnostic Manichaean Teachings
In the Living Gods, Let the
hallowed Light of Transcendant Truth be praised. Let the Sweet Mystery
of Miryai awaken in the heart of hearts.
In the name of the Living Gods
let hallowed Light be praised.
THE EMBRACINGS
Incumbent in these instruction are
certain foundational attitudes and ideals that are essential for fast progress.
These include a deep pervading desire to do no harm and to express "goodness"
in thought, words and actions. Doing no harm finds its foremost and most
profound expression in food choices. A local vegan diet and lifestyle mitigate
most harm done by human survival. Meat, fish, dairy and egg eaters, even
occaisional ones, are not welcome here on this Path. If you cannot abide
this teaching, then you have no bussiness here! If you have impropper sexual
interactions with those beneath the age of consent, or are involved in
an adultrous affair, then quickly reform yourself or depart from this Path
whose foundation is causing no hurt or pain. If you are ignoring or failing
to properly love those who depend on you, then you must correct this before
moving forward. If you have encumbered your life with responsibilites,
promises or contracts that prevent your spiritual progress, you must address
these and wisely and prudently free yourself from them in the way that
causes the least amount of disturbance to others. In no wise should you
stay enslaved forever in situations that stifle your growth. No one benefits
from this. We each must gravitate to our own destiny in the darkness or
the light.
If you are not a kind, compassionate,
and caring soul, then become one! If you think yourself smarter, cooler,
more spiritual or more healthy than others, and take pride in this to the
point of looking down on others, then you must change. If you are too cagey,
secretive, veiled, or prone to present a false image to others, then you
must become more authentic, more upfront, more honest with those you share
your life with. Embrace good speech, do not say things you do not mean,
do not dodge direct questions, do not give false praise. Do not talk much
of unimportant matters, do not waste your words, and do not waste your
time in idle chatter. Certainly do not lie beyond Pythagoras' advice to
use such like poison. Do not use your words to talk others into things,
manipulate them, flatter them, and so on. If you have employment that entails
doing this, then quit it. Embrace goodness. Change something about yourself
every month that makes you more good - not the fake goodness of a fallen
society which defines such things too often as shallow expressions of emotion
or false empathy, but change something about your character or lifestyle
that does lasting good or reduces the harm of your presence on this planet
and which does not entangle you in situations that stifle your spirituality.
Do this and you can begin!
